It takes HD video, with automatic stabilization, and the video quality seems to match most small standalone recorders you can get. It doesn't have the Wi-Fi functionality of the HC-V770K, but it has 32x optical zoom vs the Panasonic's 20x and costs only half as much. I didn't know that any consumer video did that. if it does that well. It uses a much larger sensor than the Canon to achieve that. Might account for some of its high cost.
