Whistler scanners at Walmart

Who makes the Whistler WS1010 handheld scanner that Walmart sells? Saw this at my local WM today, for only $79.95.

Not that I need it, I already have plenty of scanners already... I assume it's one that one should avoid like the plague?

Not sure the 1010 will scan digital trunk channels? I would try a 1040 or other.

Neither site lists technical specs. To be competitive in the RR Band it needs to have a sensitivity close to 0.2 uV. It appears to  be a nominal hobby scanner, maybe somebody can offer some comments from experiemce.

Suggest making comaprisons with the Bearcat BC125AT. Suggest looking for sensitivity, ease of programming, audio output and battery life.

I received a 1040 for a Christmas present.. Hard to program and use.  l at least can hear most transmissions.  My old Bearcat was so soft that I could no longer hear what was being said.  I have had issues with battery life and charging on the 1040. She just isn't a great piece of eauipment if you are not tech savvy!
