Railfan Technology > External mic recommendationsDate: 12/03/18 14:10 External mic recommendations Author: Mid_Iowa_Rails I'm looking for an external mic to use when I video trains, with cutting down wind noise as my main consideration.
The accesory bundle I got with my camera included a cheap shotgun condenser mic, but the sound quality is quite poor and the foam windscreen isn't effective. Budget: under $100, preferably around $50. I'd appreciate any suggestions! Date: 12/03/18 14:11 Re: External mic recommendations Author: exhaustED What camera have you got?

The Legria camcorders have the Canon mini advanced shoe so you can attah a DM-100 microphone, which is very good... I don't think this works on the Legria series though... I was thinking something like the Rode VideoMic GO or the Rode VideoMic. These are slightly above my budget, but if these are significantly better than a cheaper option like the Movo VXT4000-PRO, I guess I'd rather buy the better mic in the first place. |
