Railfan Technology > Slide scanner update

Based on prior posts and especially Rathole's input (thank you) recently
acquired an Epson V550.  Very pleased with the results, for a very
reasonable price. 

Provides a new capability for me - scanning 2 1/4 sq negs, as in the
NKP shot

Are these straight scans using Epson software or did you add any post production work to them?  Excellent results.

Two great results gives you no excuse to post more!

Slight tweaking on the Bessemer shot for color to
compensate for some fading on the slide, which
is a Kodachrome, shot May 13, 1965.

After thought:  Color shift a better description than fading.

Glad you are able to scan the 2 1/4". It does well. Suggestion - old slides are very contrasty. The Bessemer shot could be improved by lowering the contrast.
