Railfan Technology > More scanning Emil, before and afterDate: 11/07/19 05:32 More scanning Emil, before and after Author: donstrack In the continuing learning curve of scanning severely curled 35mm B&W negatives, here are three verions of the same image by Emil Albrecht, UP 9503 near Pocatello in 1946.
1) Mounted in a slide mount. Okay, but slightly out of focus. 2) Emulsion side down, directly on scanner glass, held down by a piece of anti-newton ring glass. Defects edited with Photoshop healing and clone brushes. 3) Raw scan of #2, above. All of the defects are on the negative. The major goal is to share these Emil Albrecht photos on the UtahRails photo albums, which are full-sized, high-resolution JPGs. Here is the album that includes this particular image. https://donstrack.smugmug.com/UtahRails/Emil-Albrecht-Photos/1946-Near-Pocatello/ Don Strack http://utahrails.net/ Date: 11/09/19 05:53 Re: More scanning Emil, before and after Author: acltrainman Second & third scan is greatly improved.
