Scanning Large Format Transparencies
Author: smf2mry

I have a large format (8x10) color transparency, that I'm trying to scan on my Epson V600 scanner.  So far it only scans random pieces of it, or if I try to scan as a document, it's really dark. Is this item beyond the capability of my scanner?

I may be wrong, but from the online specs it appears the transparency unit on the V600 is not capable of scanning 8x10.
Compare the specs of the V750 which I use regularly for 8x10 negs and chromes.
Not sure this helps........

If the project isn't big enough to justify the cost of a  scanner capable of large format work, you may try scanning in strips and the stitching the strips together, like a panorama.

V600 is not capable of 8x10. You need a V750, V800, or V850 to scan full 8x10 transparencies. The museum I volunteered at regularly did 8x10 glas plates on a V800.

My V700 will do 8x10 negs/transparencies.   I've had it for several years and it is first class.
