Commercial slide-scanning services
Author: DocJohn

Anyone have recent experiences with such services.  I have numerous boxes and trays (Ansco) that need to be scanned.

Thank you,

John

I've used ScanCafe several times and have been pleased with the results.

I've used ScanCafe for slides, movies and negatives several times. Excellent scanning with dust removal. Takes a while...don't be in a rush. The slide scanning was so good I finally decided to have all the old B&W negatives scanned. Check for sale pricing.

Panda Labs in Seattle, and R&R Custom Color in Spokane.

I’ve used them both, and they’re both excellent.

The more items they scan (slides, negatives, whatever) the lower the price-per-item goes.

I walked my items into each place. You would need to call them for shipping guidelines if you’re not bringing them in yourself.

R&R also produces prints of all varieties. Upload a file to their site, and they ship to you. I use them all the time, and they do great work.

If you call there, Erin is the owner. She is very knowledgeable.
