A Wheeling Night (Entry)
Author: Wade6573

Before the sky gets comletely dark is one of my favorite times to do night photography. I had an opportunity to do just that last night at the Wheeling and Lake Erie's Rook Yard. OLS engine 102 and an ex-Rio Grande unit are seen here parked next to the old P&WV yard office on the evening of 5/26/04.

Here's one of my personal favorites, a 416 grain train at Connellsville. The crew had gone to rest but was kind enough to leave the headlight and ditch lights on which added a bit of life to an otherwise static night shot.

Bill, I wish that was the case! Unfortunately I was about 2 years old when most of the WM was abandoned by Chessie. I did photograph the last WM engine on CSX (6573) quite a few times in the late 80's, but no night shots :(

Here's a Western Maryland shot for you, Bill! This photo was taken in 1994 near Frostburg, MD. This caboose was thoroughly refurbished by its owner, it took many hours of work to get it looking this good!

P.S. Stay tuned next week, I might have another "WM" shot to add.
