Canadian Railroads > The Beaver is Back - CP 9835 emerges in new paint scheme

On February 21, 2017, CP CEO Keith Creel announced, “I am excited to say that 'the beaver is back.’ “
Months later, CP 9835 appears to be the first to roam the railroad sporting the new paint scheme.

CP train 603, potash loads, passes through Chilliwack, B.C., on the CN Yale Sub.
Later, along the Fraser River in Langley, B.C., it has just met train 416 on double track.

After crossing the Fraser River Bridge, CP train 603 heads northbound on the double track of the CN New Westminster Sub.

Later, the train diverges from the CN New Westminster Sub onto the North Shore Industrial Line
on its way to the potash terminal at North Vancouver, B.C.

I'd find more to be optimistic about in this corporate statement if CP would consider washing its power once in a while. Your pictures show why.

What does Mr. Creel know about the true Canadian Pacific Railway, "the Beaver", Canadian history & pride and what it means to Canadians ??? He is a buddy of EHH and that ought to explain a lot. Doug

Just grateful to have it back...
Hope it finds its way on all repaints, not just big GE's and EMD's.

From what I've seen, this version of the beaver logo is an improvement on the original one. I'm just happy that some railroads are making their paint schemes more interesting.

CP 9835 is one of the new units.
They desperately need to repaint the 9500
and the 9600 number GE units.

Glad to see the golden beaver back.
