Western Railroad Discussion > Sunset at Arrowhead JunctionDate: 02/19/18 11:47 Sunset at Arrowhead Junction Author: RustyRayls I've shot so many sunrises and sunsets from this location and they all seem to have their own "character" This is the closest point on the Needles Sub to my home in Lost Wages, so it is natural for me to either begin or end (and sometimes both) here when ever I spend a day on the Needles Sub. It fits right in with my railfanning MO --- Shoot from "can see" to "can't see", be trackside at "first light" and don't quit until the light goes away!
Old Bob out in Lost Wages Date: 02/19/18 11:53 Re: Sunset at Arrowhead Junction Author: David Couple of very good pics!

It looks like they are completely rebuilding the southbound side. I don't know why?? It isn't that old?? Date: 02/19/18 16:50 Re: Sunset at Arrowhead Junction Author: callum_out The 95/515/I-11 crossing is no longer at grade though the new road North from the Casino will have an at grade crossing.
The new crossing is in, is signalled and they were working the ballast on the bridge over I-11 last week, new connection should be done shortly. As for the 95 paving project, oh hell yes, do it or lose the funding, it really didn't need it. What's really needed is a bypass aroound that speed trap town of Searchlight!! Date: 02/20/18 06:33 Re: Sunset at Arrowhead Junction Author: bmarti7 Congrats Bob on the IOTD! Well deserved. And thanks to all for the grade crossing/US-95 info. When we first moved to Vegas, US-95 was 2-lane south of Boulder City. We would go that route in the motor home to visit relatives in Texas and almost always got stopped by a train, sometimes 2, with an opposite coming before the first train cleared. Our dogs loved it as they loved to bark at moving trains."Where's the train?" woof-woof.
