More photos from my chase of the Chewelah Turn on Monday. This is a unique local you can chase pretty much every day. Monday through Saturday you can chase the southbound trip leaving Valley about 7am. Sunday morning you can catch the train heading north around 7am. The train always features a number of GP60B's.

Great broadside especially with the blue skies and clean white snow.

That has got to be the absolutely coolest lash-up anywhere in North America right now!  And I bet it sounded great, too!

Easily, the best BNSF consist I have ever seen, and the photos are excellent ++.
All of these photos should be on calendars and in BNSF books to come.
Thanks for showing these superior photos.

Use carefully. Looks like enough power to rip a train in two (if they all are running).

I don't recall Santa Fe getting that many of them into a power consist, but they do look great.

Five days a week the train has a regular crew for the run north and another for the return trip. Two days a week the Scud Local handles the train. One day they go up and the next they come down. I’m not sure what days everyone does what. They put the Scud on a few years ago to handle the Chewelah two days a week, the Lind turn on Saturday and local work on the Colombia River sub the other two.

Awesome photos. Too bad they weren’t in Red & Silver. But that is one of the best lashups I have ever seen.
