Author: NSSpike That's what a couple of motorist slowed down and asked us as we were assembled ah top the Cashtown Road overpass of the NS Alabama East End just east of Bremen Georgia last week. We were all setting up for a shot of NS 339 (MACON, GA – MERIDIAN, MS (KCS MNSJA) that had five (5) “Belle” units in the lead. Not sure you would even see that in Vicksburg MS???? This was just a small group of folks that were in town for the 20th Annual Austell Railfest that was held on Saturday at the South Cobb Diner across from Austell JCT.

On the NS Alabama East End district NS 154 (BIRMINGHAM, AL - LINWOOD, NC) rolls east bound on the main with the group assembled above. #2. Locked and loaded with NS 339 about to encounter this group of “foamers” at CP Sewell. Couple of TO Members in this shot!!! #3 NS 339 on the mainline west bound at CP Sewell greets the assembled group above with a couple of short ones. Author: trainmasternate A non-TO member/friend of mine and I got asked the same question twice on a couple occasions while chasing W&LE trains outside Akron by a couple local mechanics. Sure like listening to stories about how they would like to see one again pass their shop a few yards away from the tracks.
