Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Christmas Train in SoCalDate: 12/13/19 15:28 BNSF Christmas Train in SoCal Author: TheNavigator As posted below, the annual BNSF Christmas Train completed its move from the Bay Area to San Bernardino today. If the pattern from past years is anything to go by, the train should make two round-trips on the Cajon Sub between San Berdoo and Summit on Saturday (12/14), followed by a trip over the San Bernardino Sub on Sunday, with another trip over the Cajon Sub on Monday.
Power for this year's train is BNSF 4228 facing west, BNSF 7025 facing east, with 15 of the usual suspects in between: Eagle Pass, Rollins Pass, Mt. Rainier, Fred Harvey, Topeka, Powder River, Fox River, Bay View, Colorado River, Flathead River, Missouri River, Mountain View, Lake Superior, Mt. San Antonio, and Glorieta Pass. (Thanks also for the heads up!) Thanks for looking, GK 1. Rolling west through Hesperia. 2. A going-away view at Summit. 3. Finally got the entire train in the shot at Verdemont, where it stopped briefly before proceeding into San Bernardino. Train must be for BNSF employees? Jim Baker Riverside, CA Date: 12/14/19 08:32 Re: BNSF Christmas Train in SoCal Author: KA7008 RailRat Wrote:

One example I recall were children from the Ft Irwin Army Training center. I remember Santa walks through the train with a cast of characters. I believe the BNSF employees working the cars were volunteer. Date: 12/14/19 18:16 Re: BNSF Christmas Train in SoCal Author: oyw Great catch!
