The weather for Friday was absolutely outstanding after Thursday's storms swept away the heat and humidity! I heard via the scanner CP 475 was coming north on the CP Marquette Sub, knowing the curve in Brownsville MN offered good light, I ventured to down to Brownsville for the BNSF 7695 and CP 475, that was a nice way to start my day! CP 288, CP 8063 / 6232 was captured on French Island as the train approached La Crosse WI. Time to head north as I was informed CP 474 had a nice leader today. I watched ATCS and waited near Whitman MN for the CP 7017 and CP 474. This was my ticket back to La Crosse.

Here we are in the middle of the Donehower (MN) siding on a beautiful Friday with a nicely painted CP SD70ACU, CP 7017. Remember how I said CP 474 "had" a nice leader, well somewhere between Winona and La Crescent, the horns failed. Really... just failed??!! So the crew had to wye the power in La Crescent which made the CSXT 562 the new leader. Later in the early evening I caught CP 281 with the CP 7037 rolling downgrade into West Salem WI. Have a GREAT weekend!!
