I have personal connections to two of those Centennials: 6912 was loaned to the Feather River Rail Society to use as a parts donor for 6946. I helped strip it for usable parts before we returned it to the UP. And I have ridden in 6936 a few times over the years.

Most UP units had 3 chime horns possibly Leslie horns.. Wonder where Union Pacific got it from? Nice back in the day images. SantaFeRuss |
