A nice sunny and unseasonably warm day for Upstate New York. Trains were running later than normal and a little out of sequence. 22K went north about as expected this morning but 23K didn't show, nor did anything else for quite some time. Mid-afternoon found the 11R coming down and 23K was somewhere behind him and 30T was the late straggler. 16R was about on the advertised which meant a meet of 11R / 23K and 16R at Oneonta at about dark but also at moon rise.

1. Train 11R pulls the tonnage up Richmondville Hill in brillant sun light at Warnerville Crossing just south of Cobleskill. Power was NS 1820, 1044, 8143 and 4106. Old ties from the recent tie rehab project show at right. Autos are in the head end.

2. and 3. Still pulling up the hill passing West Richmondville.

4. Rounding the bend at Brooker Hollow

5. On the straight-a-way south of Maryland

6. After doing some work, well the light fades fast these days and he had to lay low and wait for 16R. As he waited at Oneonta, the full moon began to rise above the distant hills.

7. and 8. The 11R continues to wait, the signals indicating the 16R is in the block approaching and the moon rises higher.

9. And out of the last light in the southwest the 16R comes around the bend with NS 4094 and 4111.

10. 16R rolls in for the meet.

11. and 12. The moon even higher and 16R clear, the 11R moves out for Binghamton.

13. and 14. The moon put on a nice show this evening, all the better to catch the meet.
