The unit started life as T&NO 456 and is a very late model GP9 being built in 1959. Although starting life on SP's T&NO operation, the unit has spent most of it's life in Oregon as she was based out of the Eugene shop of SP from the late 70's (after her Sacramento rebuild???) until sold to the Albany & Eastern. There is a big lumber mill just east of Sweet Home--does the RR get any business from them? When I worked up there, I never saw any cars in Sweet Home on the days I did truck deliveries there in town. Date: 04/11/21 12:40 Re: My Day With The Black Widow 4/10/21 Author: Ritzville Very NICE series!!

Are you referring to the Murphy plywood plant at Foster? I could be wrong, but I don't think the railroad serves that place anymore.
