Getting The Day Started Off Right
Author: TheNavigator

UP 1943 -- looking sharper than ever -- led a lowly West Colton - San Antonio manifest this morning through San Timoteo Canyon on UP's Yuma Sub.  The day started out with catching a couple of NS units on a BNSF westbound at Highgrove, but 1943 departed just late enough to enable overtaking it via I-10 and setting up at the east end of San Tim.  Thanks also to everyone who provided the heads up and information today, too.

Thanks for looking,
GK

2.  Rounding "the big curve" at Beaumont.

3.  Side view from the same location as #2 above.

4.  Before chasing 1943, NS DC to AC AC44C6M #4298 led the morning Q-NYCLAC westbound through Highgrove.

5.  While waiting on NS 4298, UP 6605 came by leading a train east out of Mira Loma.

Great shooting on a perfect day for it!  Pic 2 looks like it should be a painting.

You certainly did get the day started off right and what a start it was with UP #1943.
Thanks for posting your excellent #1943 photos.

Well done. Good locations to catch a fine looking locomotive.

Nice intercept from the east end of San Tim, and great use of seasonal light to nab all your trains!
