Drinking the Lemonade on Donner
Author: BoilingMan

I'm back home on The Hill and, as expected- the air quality up here isn't what it was sailing the Santa Barbara Channel.
However...
The light quality is pretty interesting.

When served lemonade...

Thanks guys. It was one of those crazy-long grainers with 2x3*x1 power. It went grinding by the house and I figured it would be a pretty easy catch up by Yuba Pass somewhere… and I figured the light would make it worth the effort.

Really nice look back on an EB at T36.

I was on the other side of this curve on 8/4, shooting a WB into the evening sun with a wide-angle perspective as it approached T36. So many options to explore on Donner Pass.

Curious, did the new ride take you up the old Main 1 ROW to this spot from 20, or did you come down from T37 and Eagle Lakes? I had planned on doing some additional shooting between T35 and T37 while I was up in August, but the smoke from the Dixie and then Caldor Fire kept me inside. I was going to hike it, but after nearly 9 months of waiting an Ibis Ripley mountain bike I ordered in December is supposed to arrive this month. I'm pondering using that to cover more ground up there around this area, Cold Stream Canyon to the east side of T41, and more along the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail, etc.

Ha! You’re thinking exactly what I’m thinking- the locked gate at Cold Stream and a recent hike into Shed 47/ Tunnel 41 is what prompted all this. (That and my 70th Birthday)
Get there sooner and stay later!

No, I drove in from Crystal Lake for this shot- the bike wasn’t quite ready. I’m hoping to try out the bike this evening or tomorrow for it’s first rail application.

More like Orangeade! Fantastic image. Welcome back and into your Seventies. I'm glad that I don't have to breath that stuff.
