CSX "Sticker" units on the Meridian Speedway
Author: tuxedorailfan

CSX #5327 (WM Sticker Unit) and #500 "Spirit of Grafton" lead KCS train Z-AILA (Atlanta to Los Angeles) over the Meridian Speedway. We see the train passing an I-DAAT (Dallas to Atlanta) stack that's waiting in the clear at Meehan, MS.

It's not very often we get CSX power over here, so it was neat to get out and shoot these.

Enjoy!

Dylan,
Great catch! So do you really wear a tuxedo when you railfan? Seems strange? I considered buying a tuxedo back in the Nineteen-Eighties when it seemed like I was always in a wedding party. I didn't but spent a veritable fortune renting tuxes.
Not sure why anyone would want to get formal to watch disgusting dirty, grafittied trainsof today.

Where does this train get onto the UP? During all my visits to the "speedway", I have never seen a CSX leading, great catch.

Haven't worn a Tux while railfanning, yet... But the name comes from the small community I grew up in as a Kid.

This train gets onto the UP at Shreveport. The CSX stuff isn't common, and I'd assume these are paying back HP hours to someone as they've been running back and forth on these trains for a couple of weeks now.

Congratulations on Image of the Day!

It never occurred to me to associate your name with wearing a tux.

There is a Tuxedo, NY (maybe this is where you grew up) along a Metro North (or NJ Transit) line.  It depot, originally built by the Erie Railroad, is very handsome and worthy of the name.

There was also a big band song, "Tuexdo Junction" originally performed by Erskine Hawkins & His Orchestra in 1939 and became a number 1 hit for the Glen Miller orchestra.  The song was named after a stop on the "Chitlin Circuit."  The song;s name is also attributed to a jazz & blues club in a Birmingham, AL suburb where two streetcar lines crossed.

Hope you don't mind my going off topic.
