One way to fix a stripped joint.
Gentle heat and a little massage with a maul.
Easy does it!

When I find pull aparts like that, I normally stick around. I really enjoy burning a rail. Especially at night. Watching the way those flames curl around the head of the rail is really cool. I just wish that diesel smell was a little better.

Ah. The fun of burning a jiont togther. Unfortunately this is a all to common practice on the railroad during cold weather. I just wonder how much longer before the EPA bans this. I have been told by fire and or police departments this is not legal to do in cities.

I caught this scene on Monday on the LIRR viaduct near Babylon. Not sure exactly what the problem was, but trains were rolling over the flaming section.

Don't let the hoboes see this cause they might want to cook their lunch or dinner over it.
