CN Rail Alberta Derailment Cleared by Wed. Night

A CN freight train derailed near Looma, Alberta late Tuesday, spilling grain and plastic pellets but no hazardous materials, said the rail company and Alberta Environment.

CN spokesman Jim Feeny said 26 cars of a 122-car train left the tracks near the hamlet, 25 miles southeast of Edmonton, at around midnight.

Feeny said the train was headed north from Red Deer to Edmonton. It
