Date: 09/14/08 19:13 Re: chatsworth accident Author: cs16 Would the 'AU' in the number indicate Australia?
Date: 09/14/08 19:14 Re: chatsworth accident Author: danf Interesting. Never seen that done before.
I remember when I worked in radio, whenever there was an airline disaster, the first thing we did was pull any (all) airlines commercials from the racks. If ML was running any TV and/or radio ads, I'm sure they've been pulled until further notice. Date: 09/14/08 19:26 Re: chatsworth accident Author: CNW534 Looks like the new USAirways livery.

Date: 09/14/08 20:04 Re: chatsworth accident Author: tinytrains Back in 1978, a Continental Airlines DC10 over ran the runway at LAX, crashing just across the street from a billboard for for that very flight to Hawaii. Not only was it the flight, but that very same aircraft was on the billboard. The airline obviously took that billboard down right away, but they went to all the other billboards around LA and painted out the registration number on the plane!
Companies worry about strange things. Scott Date: 09/14/08 20:23 Re: chatsworth accident Author: atsf121 After the oil spill in Alaska, Exxon renamed the Valdez and moved it from Alaska to the Mediterranean. I've forgotten the name now, but that's the point I think. Companies want to make it easier for folks to forget, and the sooner the better for PR purposes.

Nearly every Australian registration starts 'Victor Hotel' (VH-XXX) Mike Date: 09/15/08 09:01 Re: chatsworth accident Author: wjamief That doesn't look like very much damage for what happened at Chatsworth?
Jamie Date: 09/15/08 09:53 Re: chatsworth accident Author: wabash2800 Hmmm, seems they could have just covered the logo and not put the "X" on it. That makes it even more obvious. <G>

California service after the hi-speed derailment at Redondo Jct. in 1956 that killed 30. I believe they were sent to Texas after they were rebuilt.
