BNSF Transcon Action - Rio Puerco, NM
Author: es44fan

On a recent trip to New Mexico, I went down to the BNSF Gallup Subdivision to get some shots at Rio Puerco. Seventeen trains between 8am and 3pm!!!! Enjoy!!

1: Sunlight reflects off the eastbound signals with a green set on main 1.
2: BNSF 5372 leads a westbound intermodal.
3: BNSF 7268 leads an eastbound intermodal into the bright sunlight.

4: A maintenance truck rolls down main 2 at Rio Puerco.
5: Amtrak 4 running an hour late flies by Rio Puerco. While it was an hour late here, it was thirty minutes early into Albuquerque.
6: BNSF 5082 leads a westbound freight with BNSF 4707 in Warbonnet colors and BNSF 2194 in Santa Fe colors.

8: While there were no trains, I caught this HC-130 refueling a helicopter in midair!!
9: While BNSF 7059 waits for a green on main 1, BNSF 6517 leads a Z train past it on main 2.

Thanks for the link. I was wondering why the helicopters kept flying over me multiple times throughout the day.
