Western Railroad Discussion > The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear MysteryDate: 03/29/13 14:47 The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: DocJones No, this is NOT an early April Fool's post. While poking about on the Canyon Sub (Feather River Canyon) we encountered this interesting sight at Quarry Rd which is where the BNSF highline crews change before heading out over the Keddie Wye and on down the Canyon. Soooooo........anyone know about this? It may end up being as mysterious as the Great Locked Lawn Chair Mystery at the overlook of the Keddie Wye. That chair has been there for many years. I have included a photo of that for your reference. BTW, the train is a westbound BNSF mainfest (probably a PASBAR) which was tied down and called for later that afternoon.
Searching for answers........... Have fun, be safe, Bruce "Doc" Jones Sierra Madre CA Date: 03/29/13 14:51 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: WAF A local, a lady, used to sit there and watch the trains go by. Its her chair
Date: 03/29/13 14:55 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: DocJones Thanks for the info. Is she still around? I've seen that chair there for many many years.
How about the teddy bear? Have fun, be safe, Bruce "Doc" Jones Sierra Madre CA Date: 03/29/13 15:10 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: DaveL Doc,
If I can find them I have some other pics at the Quarry road location. Also the gal in question lived in Keddie and would WALK to Quincy....would NOT take a ride, even if she knew who you were. Dave....the ex-ratzenberger driver. Date: 03/29/13 15:35 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: WAF DaveL Wrote:

Dave, that chair hasn't moved in ages that I know of Date: 03/29/13 16:31 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: DocJones Hi Dave,
Thanks for the info and photo. Does the bear belong to her too? From the looks of your photo and mine that bear is a bit worse for the wear. I'd suppose it's seen a winter or two. She supposedly had a cool model rr at her place in Keddie. I don't know if she still lives there. It's been several years since I've seen her.
Date: 03/29/13 18:27 Re: The Great Quarry Rd. Teddy Bear Mystery Author: DocJones Did she hang out at Quarry Rd. as well as Keddie?

The Queen of them all is Shirley Burman, aka Mrs. Richard Steinheimer. Margaret Monroe also comes to mind.
