GWR Canadians, BNSF locals, MofW train
Author: highgreengraphics

Photo 1 - On 12/16, Great Western Railway departs Fort Collins at the Timberline Road elevator eastbound on the ex-C&S Greeley Branch bound for Windsor, CO. A gray day with gray power, both originated in Canada, the first became a Alsthom lease unit and the second by way of KCS.

Photo 2 - A few minutes later, it passes by the old elevator building in Timnath, CO.

Photo 3 - Today, two recently-arrived ratty Canadians are shown switching in Windsor, CO. One wishes GWR would start up their paint booth again! Since their arrival, the Hudson Bay Railway GP-20 and the Utah Railway-painted OMLX SD-35 have not moved from their storage track north of the locomotive shop in Loveland.

There's mooore...

Photo 4 - On 12-16, the Longmont local is returning to Longmont, CO from North Yard in Fort Collins, CO here at the new pedestrian overpass at Drakes with new multicolor apartment buildings filling the background. Conspicuously absent is the SD60M 1415 which was a fixture on this until a bad PC switch a few days earlier disabled it, causing it to not be usable.

Photo 5 - Today, a short southbound train of Maintenance of Way machines is bound for Cleburne, TX behind a BNSF Warbonnet as it leaves Fort Collins under the same pedestrian overpass, with the new MAX transit busway and a station down below.

Photo 6 - At Longs Peak, the M of W equipment train met today's edition of the Longmont Local, here at Highland as it approaches Longs Peak siding as Longs Peak itself looks on, with a long train and a
conglomeration of 5 units, and look, SD60M 1516 is back among the living in back!

Happy holiday season railfanning, and Merry Christmas! === === = === JLH

That area of Colorado certainly attracts a lot of cool power. Thanks for the photos, really like the leaser in photo one. Would be nice to make one in HO.
