Western Railroad Discussion > MRL 332 sold, moving westDate: 03/04/16 09:38 MRL 332 sold, moving west Author: fbe MRL 332 has been sold to the Yakima Central Railroad apparently for grain service near Wallula, WA. It is moving in the consist of a Laurel-Pasco which should be out of Missoula this afternoon.
This is the EL SDP45 built for freight service and was rebuilt with an SD45-2 long hood after a derailment. It came to MRL in MPI paint with -2 electricals. Yes, it is still a 20 cylinder 3600 hp road unit. MRL has applied a patch to lion MRL logo and added YCR reporting marks. The MRL paint is in generally good shape. Loose the hounds! New cab, sub-base, short hood and electrical cabinet in addtion to the hood. EMD supplied - installed by EL- Hornell (NY). I hope it found a good home. Frontier's web site shows an operation in Burbank, WA, across the Snake River from Pasco. Would this be the same terminal as the one you mentioned? EDIT: apparently going to Wallula, as mentioned. 2ND EDIT: Thanks Ted.... y'all see below. Dave in Msla Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/04/16 16:03 by monaddave. But they run a number of switching operations out of that office in Wallula (RailEx warehouse, Feed Lot), Boardman (Grain Loop, industries), and the Toppenish and White Swan rwy. Previous experiances with their employees has shown training is not very high on thier priorities list ("What rule book?!?").

I have heard unpleasant things about their managerial ethics as well.
