Railroad film onTurner Classic Movies tonight
Author: patd3985

I just saw a notice that TCM will be playing an old railroad movie tonight/early AM called "Other Men's Women"(1931). It was filmed on the Southern Pacific. I looked it up and it supposedly has a lot of railroad scenes in it (kinda like "Danger Lights (1930). The typical story of a fireman who falls in love with his best friends wife. His best friend is also his engineer. It's on here at 1AM(PST). Sounds kinda corny, but if it has lotsa steam in it, I'm willing to stay up and give it a shot!

Sounds interesting - not sure I'll catch it "live", but definitely
appreciate the heads up. I'll set the DVR, however!

It's on at 3:15AM CST. Also available through Turner Classic Movies on a set of "Forbidden Hollywood" DVDs.

Trailer looks interesting! Thanks for the tip!

Another movie that came out at that time was "Steel Highway". San Diego & Arizona Eastern Railway #103 runs into a caboose pulled
by SD&AE #104. There is a little bit of the movie on You Tube.

There are also some clips from the movie on YouTube. Type in the title of the movie.

Well... you will not find any clips on YouTube of a relatively obscure movie unless you type the CORRECT movie title of an obscure film. That said, the correct title is: "The Steel Highway".

DVR'd the movie and watched it last night. Great SP stuff and wonder of wonders, it looked like the sound was actually synced to the video. Plot was corny, but that's OK.

"Other Men's Women" & "The Steel Highway" (1931) are
the same movie.
