C&TSRR Opening Day Double Header. What a great location for a railfan to build his house.

Great video but would be lots better without the music.

With out the music you couod not hear the train. You would only hear the drone. I tried it that way.

Most of my videos have some music. It's mixed in with the train sound so both are heard unless I'm trying to cover something like wind noise or a modern crossing alarm.  I feel it adds greatly to the presentation. Music selected s typically something appropriate for the country such as Bulgarian folk music for Bulgaria.  Of course there is the copy right issue to consider. But since I don't sell my videos, I don't see how that's an issue.

Roger,

Great stuff as usual! I'm in favor of the music when circumstances warrant.

Question: The water tank in the center of the scene, what location is that? Was it moved away from the tracks to accommodate the current water crane?

Thanks,
Roark

When I can hear the train I don't use music.

Not a real water tank. It was put up there for a movie.

The location is Lobato.  The tank has gone through a few transformations in the last 45 years.  It was put there as a movie prop in 1970.  At that lime it was next to the track.  It was your typical fake looking movie-prop water tank.  It  and a small fake depot down at the west end of the siding languished until about 1988 when the filmed "Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade".  The tank got torn down, moved away from the track and an insanely expensive standpipe was installed.  Eventually the tank part disintegrated leaving the base, and insanely expensive standpipe.  the depot finally collapsed under heavy snow in the mid-1990's.

Great vidieo and great music. For the anti music crowd , what do think you would hear when the video was taken from a drone?  The music was fine. If you don't like it ,turn down your volume and listen to nothing. There will be plenty of videos where you'll hear the train.

Awesome video...........and the music really makes it stand out from the many with only the sound of wind, heavy breathing, people talking, scanner babble, etc.  If the music was labeled "Lonesome Dove" it was probably the film score from the "Lonesome Dove" movie..........beautiful and very appropriate for the C&T.  I rode the C&T in about 1998........a great railroad and beautiful country.
