There is greatness among us. A friend turned me on to a device called a B-Bender for guitar,
invented and sold by the great Gene Parsons, of The Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers fame.

Turns out Gene has built his own coal burning ten-wheeler.  Gene invented the b-bender
by listening to steam whistles as a kid.  Story here :

Nice, so he's a machinist and a fellow live steamer. The locomotive in the video is a 10-wheeler, not a 2-8-0. Not sure why the video uploader labeled it as such.

It may be an Allen Models 10 wheeler, hard to tell by the fuzzy video.
