The one that started it all

Not taken on July 4th, but of great importance as the first of the bi-centennial painted locomotives (and train too). On display at Barstow on the SFe (trans-con pool partner with SCL)on
November 15, 1972 three and one half years before the Bi-Centennial.

Hey Kevin! Were you with Bob and Mike on that trip? I was supposed to go with them but something came up and I couldn't make it. Here's a couple of shots that Bob Gottier took from November 1972 of the Frisco caboose and the SCL 1776. Great shot BTW.-Brian
