Ah some old SOO Shots for you to enjoy.........

Pic 1 is SOO Train 220 WB at Savanna, IL August 23 of 1990. In the distance is the old Milwaukee Road Depot which came down the next year.

Pic 2 is a DRGW caboose on a SB at Samoa earlier that same day.

Pic 3 is a coal train just off the BN arriving into Ottumwa Yard in September of 1991. The SOO Crew will swap ends, double Rutledge Hill, and head for Fruitland.

More to come.....

In photos 4, 5, and 6, SOO Train 897, which was the Wheatfield Coal train that ran with SP and or DRGW power, is in the siding at Deer Creek north of Clinton, IA in Sept of 1991 and will meet 2 trains here. I really miss them old days of the SOO in Iowa on the MILW. Met some of the friendliest railroaders anywhere.

Thanks for the memories....and for looking.

Oooo! I love #3! I got forced to Davenport a few times. While there, I made one round trip to Ottumwa and one round trip to Bensenville and dog caught one train somewhere halfway across Illinois and took it to Clearing Yard. We also piloted a few trains from the BNSF at West Dav all the way to Savanna. Needless to say, I was lost the entire time I was up there. Great pictures!
