Ohio Jan. 1996

I always liked to go out and shoot even on less-than-stellar days. I figured railroading is a 24/7 business, I wanted to document reality.
1, 2. Here we have NS 084 at the east end of Avery siding on 1/27/96. Grubby power, grubby day. They were going through the siding, around a local who was working Certain-Teed. I heard conductor Max telling the dispatcher that because the trailing unit (a bandit ex-MILW GP40) had a sign on the cab saying, "do not occupy, trail only", the two deadhead crews taxied to Conneaut.
3. NS 309 crossing the Vermilion River with an SD40 and 2 U23B's on 1/25/96.

I like the sunset shot; very tranquil.
