Adding to the interest is the cable hanging on the nose of 639. It is not an MU cable. Would not expect it to be a dynamic brake cable as E7s did not have dynamic brakes. Might it be a cable to jump start the engine if the batteries were dead? Thanks for posting. I can feel my shoe soles soaking up the spilled diesel fuel and smell the aroma of such. My question...what is the gizzmo with the chain attached to the top of the metal post on the right of the picture and what is its purpose and what does the chain eventually attach to? Nice shot of the #639 and thanks for posting!
