Chris Date: 02/19/17 19:10 Re: El Paso, TX Author: Dreamer Six months after the city was assured that it would not be torn down by the Santa Fe in the late 1980's (1987?). Two historic RR hotels were also torn down at the same time. Santa Fe paid a 50 dollar fee for lack of a demolition permit. Now the city wants a historical RR district where they allowed this history to disappear. Also it was only three stalls.

Yes, 1987, the year Santa Fe demolished every roundhouse they still owned in that part of the world. The houses at Albuquerque, Belen, and Clovis, NM were also torn down that year, leaving behind only the long-since sold-off roundhouse at Las Vegas, NM.
