My father's 16mm home movies, 1948 Temple, TX
Author: twin_star_rocket

After World War 2, my father was a neurosurgeon at Scott & White Clinic in Temple, Texas.
This clip is my older brother, George, at the Santa Fe shops in Temple, TX. The visit was arranged thru a friend of my father's who was a Santa Fe doctor. The clip starts with my father and brother reading a book on trains. I built an ABBA set of Cary alloy shells on Athearn chassis, numbered 179 like in the video.

I can't get it to load here on Trainorders, so I've put it in my Dropbox.

What a great boyhood adventure!  Beats heck out of today's video games.

Wonderful!  Only possible, of course, back in the days when Americans thought they actually had some personal responsibility for their own actions.

Wow, that's great.  Reminds me so much of my young days with Dad, who worked out of Lindenwood as an engineer on the Frisco.  I always said I grew up in the Lindenwood roundhouse.
Thanks for posting this.
