BCR 713 South heads into the yard at Lillooet, BC on 5/12/85 led by a M630/C425/M630/M630W combo.

Looks like someone hitched a ride on BCR 716 in the new "hockey stick" paint scheme.

The mid train locos were an M420B/C425 combo.

The caboose clears while extra BCR 710 North waits.

The brakeman climbs aboard after lining the switch.

710 highballs North.

Wouldn't that be the 'old' depot as well?

Filled up pretty quick when everybody is waiting for the Budd cars in January. Cozy though.

Indeed, that is the old depot.

These photos cover the classically predicable mid day activities at Lillooet in BCR days. One cold always expect to see a three way meet there around 1PM.
From the north came a scheduled freight (usually #24), from the south came Budd train #1 just behind it, an extra north (note the white flags on 710).
Three days a week, a couple of the budd cars would be taken from #1 and run north to Prince George, while on the alternate days, the PG - Lillooet portion of #2 would be added to the Lillooet Budds for the run to North Vancouver.

Fun Stuff

Lillooet - British Columbia's "Little Nugget".

Didn't realise there were tracks north of the station on the west side of the yard. The Budds usually headed to the shop track during the layover when I visited Lillooet.

There was a short "siding???" alongside the main track on the station side, can't recall when it was installed or the name of the track. The RDC units would reside there until trip south. The layover you mention would be on the east side at the shop, wye at least one unit for the trip south. Needless to say there were funky little tracks here and there to accommodate servicing etc. Doug
