2014 CP Holiday Train - Lytton BC
Author: Train611

Hello,

I had occasion to be travelling through Lytton around the announced time of CP's Christmas train stop.
I enjoyed watching it arrive and watching some of the show.

Kudos to CP and their crews for operating this train and the US train in support of community Food Banks. A very nice donation was presented to Lytton officials.

1. CP2246 west passes a waiting eastbound CN stack train at the east (north) end of town.

2. Even during daylight running, the 2246 and train look good, only thing missing was the darkness! And Lights!

3. A good crowd turned out to be entertained by Tracey Brown, Jim Cuddy and the band.

There are many traditional Christmas / Holiday / Polar Express type trains...to all involved...keep it up and thanks!

Happy Holidays,

Russ

Good coverage! Does the door to the stage roll up and down or how do they close it after the performance?

It's hinged on the bottom and those two cables you see in the picture just pull it up to the face of the car. My wife and I were lucky enough to ride the Holiday train from Agassiz to Port Moody two years ago. It's really quite a setup that they have. From the time the car stops till they're ready to start the show is only a few minutes...

Hey Craig,

A picture is worth "a thousand words"...well maybe 40!

When you look closely, this is a pretty unique set-up.

And looks really good at night.

Excellent video on a previous post by Mr. Eminence.

Take care,

Did you catch any pictures of the following passenger cars?

Hi,

Here are 3 of the 4 passenger coaches on the CP Holiday train.
Not the greatest quality...sorry!

There was one more passenger coach, a smooth sided 4-wheel truck coach.
It appeared the "passengers" on the trip road this coach.

Take care.
