CEFX 1019, before and after work
Author: Mberry

I couldn't avoid CEFX 1019 today. While waiting for my commuter train, a very short CP 253 with that unit leading alone passed Lasalle Station 2 minutes before my commuter train.

After work I went to Dorval to shoot CP 133, the westbound Expressway, and what should be leading but 1019. The engineer gives two fingers up on lead unit CEFX 1019 as CP 133 passes through Dorval on a humid but mostly sunny evening. Trailing is workhorse SD40-2 CP 6011.

I guess they took 6225 out of the regular consist. An SD-40/SD-60 consist did not have much excess hp for a 6900' hotshot train. It used to run with 3 SD-40s (9000hp) and would make good time over the road.

Yes, I shot 133 with 6225 leading on Saturday and it arrived in Montreal trailing on 132 early Tuesday morning. Was hoping for it to lead again but it got switched out and left in the afternoon, probably on CP 143.
