GO Transit MP40 Cummins Repower

Whatever happened to the project MPI had to repower one or more MP40's with dual Cummins engines? I haven't seen any info at all as to whether that is still in process or was dropped.

Since GO 647 was shipped to Boise in May of 2012, I have been wondering the same thing.  Anybody in the area seen it sitting around lately ?

I saw a shot last year where it was just a frame and cab sitting outside.

It's all put back together and painted. Should be in test now.

Thanks. IIRC, this was to be converted to AC traction, is that still the case?

I just came across this photo of Go 647 in Boise on Railpics.

Anyone have more info? I understand it's rated 5400 horsepower. It has 2 Cummins 16 cylinder QSK60 engines inside, rated at 2700 horsepower each.

I'm curious though, does it have AC traction? Diesel genset or static inverter HEP? How about dynamic brakes?
