Neptune at Night
Author: loleta

Here's one of Neptune Terminal's cow and calf gensets, 805 and 805A, slowly unloading a string of potash cars in North Vancouver this evening. While not as cool as the ex-SP Alcos Neptune used to have, these units are still pretty unique.

That's not a calf, it's a slug. Still pretty unique.

Slugs are small and slimy, calves large and dry. This is definitely a calf.

805A is a slug.  Here's a link to a picture taken by our own Mr Carlson    http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2845763

A calf has a prime mover, a slug does not. I don't see any stacks or vents indicating any type of power plant on the slug.
