BC Rail 4653 Train CN999
Author: Train611

Hello to all...

A nice surprise on the rails around Kamloops today.
BC Rail 4653 was in charge of the CN Track Evaluation Train.

1. Approaching Kissick on the Ashcroft Sub. we see the light arrangement being used on 4653. (one bulb out)

2.  The head-end has called the Clear Signal at Kissick.

3. The whole train (19 axles) will take the signal, go through the tunnel and head west.

Have a good weekend.
Thanks for looking.
Stay warm.

Does the last car have a 2 + 3 arrangement?  Otherwise I count 20 axles...

Such beautiful, soft light, and a perfectly-handled exposure in shot #2 especially; I love the details.

Thank you for the positive comments.
Much appreciated!

As to axle count...report was from track side detector.
loco: 6 axles
2 electronics cars: 8 axles
TES caoch: 4 axles

Hard to see but there is an "idler axle" between the two electronocs cars.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, that makes complete sense.  The "odd" axle will be the sensor that reads the track...
