Eastern Railroad Discussion > CSX B36-7'sDate: 12/23/07 14:27 CSX B36-7's Author: ConrailTV-6 I noticed today that CSX has derated many of the remaining GE B36-7's to 2400 horsepower. When was this done? Thanks!

SantaFeRuss Date: 12/24/07 06:37 Re: CSX B36-7's Author: GPutz I guess that the CSXT B36-7s and the B30-7s will last until they individually require major repair work. Then each one will be off to a blast furnace in China. If usable, the frames and trucks may get recycled as "green goats." Gerry

That's were alot of CSX's ex-CR B36-7's ended up. (I think it was Brazil, the railroad is EVFM, and they were converted to B+B trucks with the pilots extended, and many of them still wearing CSX or CR colors) |
