UP 1988 to the CN
Author: railtrekker

Currently showing on the MNLTT on the UP, but should be on the CN at Kinnmundy, Il about 8pm or so tonight heading North.
What is the CN Symbol?
MNLTT= Manifest N Little Rock-Toronto. Hopefully someone can get pictures to post!

Does this represent the first time one of the UP 'Heritage Units' will be going onto a foreign railroad since their delivery from WSOR's shop?

No. UP 1995 led several UP detour trains over the IC&E from West Chicago to Clinton, IA back in June. And the UP 1995's very first move after unveiling was on the MPRCB, which detoured over the Iowa Interstate from Des Moines west.

I do believe that this would be the UP 1988's first trip on 'foreign' rails. I'm sure others can come up with some other times...

North Little Rock to Toronto is M39891 on the CN, but the UP power usually comes off that train at Markham.

No both the 1988 and the 1982 traveled on NS enroute to a show at the Monticello Railway Mueseum in the fall of 2006.
