Date: 05/15/01 08:34 RE: norfolk southern question Author: toledopatch Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific is otherwise known as the Rathole line from Cincinnati down into Tennessee. The track is (or at least was) actually owned by the city of Cincinnati and leased to NS.
You'll see a lot of such sublettering on NS units, particularly the older ones and now, the ex-Conrail units sublettered PRR. Date: 05/15/01 08:43 RE: norfolk southern question Author: w8nkp The Cincinnati Southern is still owned by the city of Cincinnati. The line stretches south from Cincinnati through Kentucky to Chattanooga, Tennessee. The line is leased to NS under its Cincinnati, New Orleans, & Texas Pacific subsidiary.
Keary W8NKP Date: 05/15/01 08:44 RE: norfolk southern question Author: HoosierVirg Still leased from the City of Cincinnati, was built under the name of Cincinnati Southern and is a busy and scenic part of the NS from Cincinnati to Chattanooga. Have a good and safe day.
