Shortline Switcher Sunday.
Author: alco539

Out running around the PA. countryside today I ran across five different swichers at three different locations, and here they are...

Swtcher #1: ex-Northern Illinois & Wisconsin SW1500 operating on the Penn Eastern Rail Lines. Boyertown,PA.

Swicher #2: ex-PB&NE SW900m operating on the East Penn Railroad. Topton,PA.

Switcher #3: ex-Reading SW1500 operating on the Reading & Northern Railroad.

Switcher #4: is my favorite Reading & Northern engine (even though it hasn't ran in about four or five years.) being a former resident of Indianapolis,IN. this locomotive is an ex-Indianapolis Union Belt Railway SW1500 and started out life as one of the EMD demonstrators. Hopefully this engine will end up somewhere safe.

Switcher #5: is the most interesting beacause it has no number, no sign of it's history, all I can say from the looks of it, it's a SW1200.
Anyone who has information on this unit or has a good guess chime in. Thanks, Sean.

Alco539,
Neat collection of oldie moldie switchers.
Note: The NIWX is on the Eastern Berks Gateway Railroad run by US Rail Partners Inc.
No longer Penn Eastern.
Thanks for the post.

That last one looks like a SW-7. Have to add more notes to my Gazetter.
