Norfolk Southern's "B" line between Manassas and Riverton Jct. (Front Royal), originally a bucolic branch over the blue ridge, now sees 14+ trains daily. CTC and new 2nd mains insure the smooth flow of 10,000' manifests.
A. 35Q descends the blue ridge at Thoroughfare Gap, VA (west of Haymarket) with a potpourri of power. (11/21/14)
B. 11R is on the downslope off the summit at Markham, VA, as two donkeys turn their backs on this "high, wide" and handsome consist (11/21/14)
