EMD Shenanigans On the Kanawha Subdivision
Author: CO3124

Some EMD shenanigans on the Kanawha Subdivision yesterday with a couple of standard cab leaders. First up was a westbound work train rolling through Scott Depot on its way to get ready for the "Coal Jamboree" maintenance blitz along the former Clinchfield. A few minutes after the work train had moved on further west with its slug set power. A westbound manifest pops around the curve and into view with a decent sized train in tow behind. CSXT 8811 was working its guts out to get this train up the hill.

Working hard and sounding good. And from the length of the train I can see why it was working hard.

This is what went by right before the manifest showed up. Work train W044 rolls west through Scott Depot, West Virginia with a former Western Maryland GP40-2 leading the way towards Russell, Kentucky. I believe this one was heading that way to get into position for the "Coal Jamboree" that is supposed to start on Monday.
