Rolling Thunder on the Maryland Midland
Author: cr2581

UBEG heads east through Reisterstown (near Glyndon) with four EMD's, 52 cars and 7100 tons.

The earth literally shook.

Enjoy ..... we sure did !

Nice video..... Right of way is nice... Do you know if this track is in better shape than in Western Maryland days?

Well, I'd say no to the "real" WM days as they were very maintenance conscious on everything.  But after '75 and that sub being washed out and used as a stub route to serve Congoleum (and being Chessie System) it was not kept up so yes it is in better shape than then, if that makes sense.  I remember it looking real rough right before the MMID took it over.

Now that's how most of us became big time railfans, the sound of EMDs working a steep grade on a heavy train, doesn't get any better than that, great video my man!
