Bravo on the shots of the old DT&I. Those could be right out of the 90's with the GTW unit in the lead.

Sad how that old GTW unit looks. I grew up next to the GTW as a kid way back when the GTW was still the GTW. I don't ever recall any of their locomotives looking that bad. They used to take a certain amount of pride in how their equipment and physical plant looked.

GTW 4929 with the GTW 5831
Author: Ron

Back in March of 2015, that GTW 4929 had a little bruise to its nose. I've been kind of keeping that number in my memory bank hoping to see it here in Battle Creek. But I haven't yet.

Might you have gotten any other photographs of it that show the end that needed the Earl Scheib $99.99 special?

Thanks....

Ron

Maybe on the "original" GT side of things, but they let things go to pot on the ex DT&I in a hurry...

Very nice work, especially #1 & 2. Any idea on how long those arches go?

CSX's Lincoln Secondary. Pennford is their name for it.

Great shot under the DT&I arches. I was going to go there last fall, but got talked out of it by others on TO saying it was not likely I would get a train under it. Glad you did, and GT on the point to boot! === === = === JLH
